Jessie Turner Health - 2008
Fontana recently held the grand opening for their Jessie Turner Health & Fitness Center.
The 43,000 sqft facility includes a spacious indoor gymnasium, a dedicated aerobics room, a large assembly hall,
full service kitchen. Continental Plumbing installed all site utilities and plumbing systems for this
impressive health and aquatic center. Completed September, 2008 - base contract: $2,652,422.
Heritage High School - 2007
In early 2006, Continental Plumbing began work on the
the first high school in Romoland, California. All site utlities and plumbing systems
were carefully planned and installed by our professional crew of skilled craftsmen.
The project was completed in September of 2007. Completed September, 2007 - base contract: $4,030,000.
PIH Hospital Whittier - 2005
Continental Plumbing, Inc. recently re-routed site utilities and installed all plubming systems throughout
all five levels of the newly constructed Foundation Tower for Advanced Medicine at the Presbyterian Intercommunity Hospitals's
newest addition. We were proud to assist PIH in design, budgeting, and value engineering
over $500,000 in savings for the owner. Completed January, 2005 - base contract: $3,338,984.

Education, & Pay Scale
Our
goal is to teach and inspire individuals to become craftsmen that will take pride in
the trade of plumbing. This is a 4 year program, requiring a minimum of
144 hours of class time per year and on the job training
hours. Continental Pluming, Inc. will be investing approximately $20,000.00 into
your plumbing education and asks that you consider apprenticeship a serious
commitment. Registered apprentices starting wage is
$11.19/hour for private wage and $13.10 for prevailing wage and increases at eight
different periods as curriculum, class hours, and on-the-job training are
completed. Increases average approximately $1.53/hour every six months for private wage and $2.88/hour every ten months for prevailing wage. Registered
apprentices also receive medical, dental, vision, and a chiropractic plan for
themselves and their dependents; and a $10,000 life insurance policy. In
addition to the above, Continental Plumbing, Inc. provides profit sharing,
cafeteria 125 plan, 401k retirement plan, holiday and vacation plan,
direct deposit, dedicated employee safety, competitive journeyman wages, and
opportunity for advancement.
The Apprenticeship
Requirements
Continental
Plumbing, Inc. and Associated Builders and Contractors are separate entities and
becoming a Continental Plumbing, Inc. employee will not automatically put you in
the apprenticeship program. In order to become an employee, you must have a high school diploma or equivalent, one year of
high school algebra with at least a "C" average, a valid California
driver's license, and a social security card. In order to enroll in the
apprenticeship program you must complete an application, show proof of the basic
requirements, pass the ABC entrance exam, and successfully go through a committee
interview orientation.
Apprentice
Responsibilities, Duties, & Expectations
Apprentices must follow all company
and apprenticeship rules, regulations, and policies; communicate with both ABC
and Continental Plumbing, Inc.; purchase approximately $100 in curriculum books
once a year, a $60-80 Uniformed Plumbing Code book at the beginning of their 2nd
year, and invest approximately $1800 into hand tools over the next four years.
Things to Consider Before
Enrolling
You may be required to drive
up to two hours to jobs in the counties of Riverside, San Bernardino, Los
Angeles, Orange, and Ventura. The ABC school is located in Anaheim Hills
and is normally in session one night a week, 6 p.m. - 10 p.m. for ten months of
the year. The work is very physical. Pay raises through the
apprenticeship program are based on on-the-job training and class hours.
